Carson:
I liked his attitude about not having gone to school and how it worked out well for him. Everything he did, he had a say in, there was no one to tell him no and his creativity showed that.
He is unique because his work is himself, he seems as if he was the first to be breaking these rules every one else had followed.
Scher:
Scher was interesting. She's very confident in her work but her work definitely deserves that kind of confidence. It's very interesting the way she used words to evoke this feeling of intensity. I know I'm familiar with some of the works they showed.
It was also great to see that she's so fast and intense about her work. With the Citi logo, how she had it on a napkin, done in a second. It's great to see a woman confident in the kind of work she does.
Sagmeister:
He is my favorite of the three. I felt like the other two, although very creative in their own right, were stuck in the box, the box of their computer. Everything they did had to do with working on their computers, Sagmeister was all about the way he presented the words to you.
He would use the computer to do a rough draft (the adobe ad) but goes beyond the computer and brings it to life in the real world, using objects that were unique, he expressed his ideas better than I think he could ever do on just a computer.
He doesn't let the computer define what kind of artist he is, he defines it on his own terms.
